Rio

This girl LOVES "Rio". It's the first movie she actually watches. At least the first 30-40 minutes which is pretty long for a 1 1/2 year old!

Now I say, "Launa, do you want to watch Rio?"

And she runs to the tv and says, "yoyo!" (Her version of "Rio")

"Horsey... Bob..."

Driving around running errands this morning you kept saying "horsey, bob, horsey, bob" all the way down the hill. Then when we went out later today, we stopped to feed Aunt Rachel's horse and you were really enthusiastic about the "horsey, bob!" And we took you to see him. You even know which one he is. Casady greeted us in the pasture and you ignored him and whined for Bob's back. Once up you were super happy! And then when we took you off you seem fulfilled as we walked back to the car :-) I told you is take you riding more. You've been horse deprived lately! You look so pretty.

Such a Girl

We love what a girly girl you are. One of your early words is "earring". Your favorite thing is shoes. You love purses. You are so motherly. And even today at Walmart, you were carrying around fishy crackers but dropped 'em when you saw fingernail polish! I let you play there for a few minutes :)

Well a few weeks ago you figured out how to climb up the couch and into the changing table of the pack n play. Yesterday, when Harmony was playing in there and I was in the kitchen, Harmony started fussing and you instantly said, "shhh shhh shhh" and got to her before I did, which usually worries me because you don't quite understand gentleness and slowness around the baby yet, but when I hurried over there, you were just laying still and gentle and it actually quieted Harmony down and so I let you stay and you stayed there for a couple minutes while Harmony moved her arms around.

Harmony lives you so much. She hears you and looks at you and smiles big! You guys are 18 months and almost 3 months in this picture.

The First Thing You Say...

each morning and after each nap is "uhmunnie, uhmunnie, uhmunnie" (Harmony). This morning I laid her on your chest and you loved it. You threw a fuss when I took her away, giggled when I put her back and fussed again when I picked her up. You are so wonderfully loving and motherly. You love your little uhmunnie. You used to and occasionally still do call her "Arnie".

Learning the Art of Magic Kisses

It was hard to get a non-blurry shot of you doing this but I have finally convinced you of the power of "magic kisses". Normally you just like to holler and cry until your boo boo feels better.

But starting you on magic kisses has helped. The other day, you bonked your head and instead of crying you ran up to me saying "hugs, hugs!" which is what you say when you mean kisses too.

Then yesterday, you banged your foot on something and I picked you up and gave it magic kisses and then sat you in this chair and did something else. I walk back by a minute later and you are kissing your own foot. A lot. It was soooooo cute.

Spare Car Seat

We've had this spare car seat sitting on the front porch for a couple days is to sit in it and have us buckle you up. Honestly, you'll just sit there and look around for a while. Lol

First Parade

We went to watch a small town labor day parade today. You had a lot of fun. As always, you sat back and observed for a long time, then you joined in with saying hi and clapping your hands when you'd hear people cheer. And of course, dog lover that you are always said, "doggy" when you saw a dog. We saw two horses and you whined to get on. Lol. I love you. You're my girl. You slept hard afterward. You also have the sniffles right now, adding to your exhaustion. I'm glad you can sleep as much as you need.

Alone Time with Mommy

You've been a wee bit of a challenge at home the last couple weeks. Just a lot of crying and tantrum throwing. We've been trying really hard to create positive environments and experiences for you.

We also understand a person's need for alone time. It will be nice when you girls are a little older and I can teach you about the energy types so that you understand each other, love your unique energy type and learn how to work together in harmony.

So anyway, whoever goes to the store, we usually always take you and only you along. I had a good time with you at the store. One on one your true nature can manifest and you are super funny and super sweet.

You are such a loving child. Your hugs and kisses are more precious than gold.

Best Hug

Today at Redondo beach, you started showing promise of some more independence. Up in the aquarium you did your little boogie dance, ran around without having to hold my hand, and you actually touched, albeit briefly, things in the touch tank... like the underside of a star fish. It made me so happy to see you remembered where we were and that you were having such a good time. The fact that you wanted to do things on your own was pretty huge.

At the beach, you still don't have the confidence walking over the rocks, so I held your hand and walked with you and helped you throw rocks.

Then over by the dock (the tide was way out) you let me let go and you stood there for a few minutes happily and let me take pictures.

A little later on, I was holding you and we were watching Starlynn walk in the water and you patted me on the back, then gave me a hug with your head against my chest. It made my whole week.

I love you so much and just want you to be happy and have joy. I like helping you get outside and enjoy nature because it really means a lot to you! As evidenced by the hug you gave me. Love you!!!!!
